We're lucky to have Johnny Campbell and the Solway Band closing our Festival. Johnny's a rising star in folk music - check out the reviews of his new album True North - https://johnnycampbell.bandcamp.com/album/true-north
The Lake District was part of a revolution in landscape conservation, eventually leading to its inscription as a World Heritage Site. Castlerigg stone circle was one of the first ancient monuments to be listed as deserving of State protection. And battles were fought - literally - over rights of way around Keswick, Castlerigg's 'home town'. Johnny's take on these early battles for access is amazing - part of the Northern tradition of which we're proud.
